What Is The Focus Of Ayurvedic Treatment?

What Is The Focus Of Ayurvedic Treatment?

Broadly, there are only 2 places where the disease can settle itself. Of these, one is Body and other one is Mind.

1.   Bodily Ailments

These physical diseases relate to discrepancy and imbalance of the 3 doshas – vata, pitta and kapha.

2.   Mental Disease

The Mind or Mental disease would mainly result from imbalance of the Rajas and Tamas doshas of the mind.

Focus of Ayurvedic Treatment

Therefore the principal emphasis for relieving the physical or mental disease and curing the symptoms stands on two essential thresholds.
  1.  Getting rid of the Dosha (Physical and / or Mental) imbalance.
  2. Maintaining their balance and permanence.

Why Tasty Food & Right Diet Is So Significant?

Why Tasty Food & Right Diet Is So Significant?

Sometimes if for many days you continue having the same food stuff or diet ingredient, then chances are that you might develop dislike for that food. Another instance could be when the diet that you are taking in doesn’t actually feel tasty to you. In either of the cases, you tend to feel aversion and tastelessness for the food you take.

Make It Tasty

At this time, Ayurveda advises that the food needs to be made more appealing and satisfying to your taste-buds. This is because when the food that is being taken, is receptive to the mind, not only is this diet nourishing and filling, yet it also brings in energy, happiness, strength as well as desire. And the best part is, this diet transformation could also propel exit of the malady that you are suffering from.

Dosha Healing Impact

While the taste-buds are instigated, the doshas that could have been aggravated in your system; might as well decline and settle down. Moreover, as there is decline in the disease, the appetite gets stimulated and hunger once again develops.

Role Of Vaidya

Here comes the role of the Vaidya (Ayurveda Physician) or the learned one who has the precise knowledge of the right and wrong diet for you. He could then with a wide variety of dietary formulations and combinations, recommend specific diet patterns thus ensuing different kinds of dosage forms and their therapeutic utility. This would definitely stimulate the dormant desire or hunger and food once again is appealing to the individual.

Pathya Ahara

This is mentioned as ‘Pathya’ in Ayurveda. While appraising Pathya, it is mentioned in Ayurveda text that when the diseased-one takes to Pathya diet, this has the power to up-root the disease itself. This is owing to the fact that whereas this diet and food is not incorrect for the bodily Srotas or the minute channels of the body, it is at the same time appealing and tempting for the mind

Freedom From Disease

And as the disease leaves the subject, he could be freed from the consistency of medicine intake. Similarly, on the contrary, if the patient who is encountering a particular disease and is not taking to ‘Pathya’ or the specific diet patterns that would be suitable for him, then even if the patient is taking regular medication; it becomes difficult for the disease to leave him.

Sanskrit Shloka

This finally demonstrates that the significance of ‘Patha’ or suitable diet is even more than medicine intake.

Want Health? Take Care Of Your Roots!

As per the philosophy and health insight of Ayurveda, the science of life, our body has its roots in three basic aspects –
2.    The Dhatus - Rasa, Rakta, Mansa, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Shukra; or the Body tissues viz. Juice / Plasma, Blood, Muscle, Fat, Bone, Bone-Marrow and Semen.
3.    The Malas - Mootra, Pureesha and Sweda ie. the body wastes i.e. Urine, Faeces and Sweat.

How These Matter?

All these 3 – Dosha, Dhatu and Mala – together make the roots of the entire body. It has been specified that an upsurge as well as deterioration of the tree depends mainly on the roots that make it; similar experience is undergone by the body. Not only this, the influence of healthiness as well as losing wellness also exclusively depends on roots or the original support system of the tree; alike it is with the human body.

Ancient Shloka

“Dosh Dhatu Mala Moolam Hi Shareeram”

This ancient shloka indicated in Ayurveda text regards the Doshas, Dhatus and Malas as roots of the Body. And therefore, it is implicit that our health as well as losing of it, along with our bodily development as well as debility, reasons primarily into the status of our own integral roots (the body humors, body tissues and the body wastes (Video)).

Natural Manifestation Of The 7 Body Tissues

Rasa, Rakta, Mansa, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Shukra are the seven dhatus or the body tissues as specified in Ayurveda, the Science of Life. While every tissue works to formulate and nourish the next forming tissue, there are some defined functions that each one undertakes.
  1. Rasa (Juice / Plasma) – Contentment, nourishment and aids in formation of the blood tissue.
  2. Rakta (Blood) – Takes care of life itself, imparts natural glow to the complexion and as well provides sustenance to the ensuing muscle tissue.
  3. Mansa (Muscle) – This tissue mainly provides lepana or coating / layering of the bones, and also sustains the body by nourishing the latter tissue i.e.  the fat tissue.
  4. Meda (Fat) – The main attribute of this tissue is that it intensifies unctuousness in the entire body and more specifically in the eyes, increases greasiness, durability and strengthening of the body while nourishing the following bone tissue.
  5. Asthi (Bone) – The bone tissue provides structure and upright actuality to the body, and also reinforces nutrition of the Majja dhatu or the bone-marrow.
  6. Majja (Bone-Marrow) – This particular tissue once formed, provides endurance, unctuousness, completes the entire configuration of the bones and as well development and nurturing of the following semen tissue of the body.
  7. Shukra (Semen) – The seventh tissue fortifies happiness and gratification, builds up the stamina and essentially develops and supports the Garbha or state of pregnancy which lays foundation of the foetus.
