Including Fat in Diet!

Although we are much conscious and aware about the extra pounds that tend to cause unwanted flab and plumpness to our basic persona, yet at the same time Ayurveda does not strictly advise "No-fat" diet.
Rather, it has been suggested that taking Sneha (Fat) in diet is beneficial as –
·       Taking some fat in diet would keep your Agni or the gastric fire invigorated which is essential for good digestion.
·         This practice keeps the stomach cavity gently refined.
·         Enhances overall stamina in the body.
·         Skin of the individual becomes glowing with enriched skin tone.
·        All the seven body tissues become tender and renewed. These are - Juice, blood, muscle, body fat, bone, bone marrow and semen.
·        The sense organs become fortified.
·      Not only this, taking some fat in diet (as per the need) actually benefits to keep aging at bay and the person may live on to hundred years of ripe age.

When There Is Indigestion

When the food is not digested properly, then due to accumulation of Ama dosha,
First and foremost, you need to go in for some mild fasting. This can be taken up in 3 ways..

      Light Meals And Fasting

This mainly helps to relieve mild forms of indigestion because there would be a sufficient enhancement of vayu / vata (air) and agni (fire) which helps to dry down the mild disturbance in doshas just like a small pool or puddle may dry up simply by the proximity of air and sun.

      Fasting And Digestives

On the other hand, if the indigestion being experienced is little more, then you might need to go in for fasting along with taking some digestives. According to Ayurveda, this could help just like if water is more in the pool/puddle, then it could only dry up with the aid of sun (fire) along with falling of mud or ashes in it.

      Detoxification Is Needed

Sometimes when the problem of indigestion is aggravated, then it is best to go in for thorough removal and detoxification by the means of Ayurveda treatments and therapies for disintegrating and expelling the vitiated doshas from the body. The analogy provided is that of water occupied and clogged in a field which could only be causing stagnation of crop therein.

Saindhav Lavan / Sendha Namak (Rock Salt) Is Amazing

Rock Salt or the Saindhav Lavan / Sendha Namak is counselled in Ayurveda as being a holder of prime heath-care properties. These are –
  • ·         Saindhav Lavan is the destroyer of aggravation in all the three doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Thus there is dosha – balancing effect of this particular salt.
  • ·         Rock salt is naturally little sweet and hot in potency, light, and is believed to be nutritive.
  • ·         Ayurveda also portrays this salt to be good for the vision, amicable for the heart, and yet does not cause burning in the body.
  • ·         Not only this, Saindhav lavan is believed to invigorate the Agni or the gastric fire.
